The Inventory Solution 6.1 SP2 upgrade deletes custom inventory files

The Inventory Solution 6.1 SP2 upgrade will delete any custom .xml and .ini files used by custom inventory.

Resolution
Make sure that any custom .xml or .ini files used by custom inventory are backed up prior to performing an upgrade to SP2. After the upgrade is complete, be sure to:
Restore the custom inventory source files back into the altiris\notification server\nscap\bin\win32\x86\Inventory Solution folder.
Add aexcustinv.exe command lines to the appropriate aexinvsoln*.ini files.

Yes, and we found out the hard way. Something random we didn't notice when running the upgrade in our test env. This is actually very annoying, because it is the opposite behavior from the last Inventory Solution upgrade. 3

In that case the upgrade replaced the default xml and ini files. Because we used the customized w/ the default files we lost all of our settings then. So we had the bright idea to use custom files so this wouldn't happen again;) Yep, burned again!!

Moral of the story; know to test the components adjustments you don't know about:)
