When you have used the default name "Express" to install your DS then this is NOT valid. If (for one reason or antoher) you used a different name as Db (other then "Express") then upgrading will finish succefull, but you server will need a lot of CPU.
Reason is that the SQL upgrade script use the USE EXPRESS setting to start with. Since this is a SQL script there is SQL log to show that there was an error. But be carefull, not all error in the log are abnormal because the script is made to migrade from all previous versions.
If you will run Server.exe from DSSetup folder (installation files) it will extract all files needed for Server installation to %Temp%\apt0 (or larger number) folder.
And you can use then Upgrade.sql file to update the database manually.
